Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Globally, schools are investing in iPads, but how can they ensure that these mobile devices are tied to curricular needs and that their integration in instruction ultimately contributes to improved student achievement? With clear instructional goals and active engaging pedagogy, these devices can be leveraged in affective learning experiences for students. Based on the successes of a school district in Arizona, implementing iPads as instructional tools to meet a state third grade reading proficiency mandate, attendees will learn strategies to integrate mobile devices with established curricular goals, discover apps to support reading instruction in grades K-3, collect methods for locating, evaluating and selecting apps, gain insights on conditions critical for success, and consider ways to evaluate the success of a mobile learning initiative. Attendees will participate in reflective activities that include prompts and responses for creating an individualized framework. This session will be hands-on and is appropriate for users of all levels--beginning, intermediate or advanced. Join us for an action-packed session and leave with a set of tools that will be customizable for your own mobile device initiative!
